This is a story of how we treat dogs as our babies. Pam and Maxine My two dogs are both rescue dogs, and our house would probably be less happy when they are not around. They both came from a dog facility near our house. At first, our family decided not to go for adoption since we can meet plenty of dogs in the facility. We can also go over there if we want to cuddle and play with dogs. But these 2 were different. The moment I played with them and they jumped on me and rubbed their cute little paws on my face, I couldn’t resist taking them home with me. Both of them gave me and my family that happiest life in the world – I was so thankful I went into the shelter and found them before somebody else could take them away. Maxine is like my tail, following me all around the house and just wants to stay near my side always. She is so playful, likes to play like the whole day. She also is my jogging buddy. We’ll run around the park and back to the house (like a 5-mile run). Pam was our comforter. She comforted my husband since we got her 2 weeks after he lost his job. She was always there for my husband during those depressed days of being unemployed, and now, I find a hard time to separate the both of them. Maxine loves to stay at the door, then jumps to the window just wanting to see if my husband parked the car in the driveway. As my husband comes in, she then wags her tail and sniffs my husband from shoes to his hands (just wanted to be petted). Pam was also very lucky we found her. We discovered she had orthopedic issues that need very expensive surgeries. Luckily for her, we didn’t mind the costs because we really wanted her to stay alive. Our neighbors even reacted that maybe we were crazy for spending too much just for that dog. Anyway, we didn’t mind them. All we know is Pam is not just a dog, she is one of our babies. And the same is true for Maxine. We love them both so much and I know they love us too. My husband and I wouldn’t be complete if we don’t have Pam and Maxine in our lives.
