This is a story that will not only break your heart, but a story of a kitten that had the will to live and deserves all the HELP we can give, but Atchison Animal Control NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!! I received a call about a kitten that was running around Warnock Lake. Called stated that he had a bum leg that just dug the ground, but than a couple says last he longer had a foot or flesh on that front right leg… the only thing visible was a bone sticking out of his leg :( This little kitten was so scared to be caught so I had to go borrow a live animal trap, a couple hours he couldn’t resist the good smelling food I had left for him and he was in fact caught. This little fellow was immediately taken to Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic where it was determined that this leg would have to be amputated due to the injury and the infections in that leg. He was also tested for Feline Leukemia/Aids of which he is negative :) :) During the surgery he was also neutered to get it done and out of the way while he was completely under to complete the arm injury. Our little special boy, whom I’ve named Marty McFly came through the surgery and is doing wonderful. He will soon be up for adoption. Again, I can’t house cats/kittens at my shelter so we will have to pay boarding until he is adopted. He is such a special little boy. I’ve attached photos of him when he was trapped and taken to the Vets office, a photo of him in the shelter today prior to surgery and a photo of him after surgery resting comfortably. I need help in raising $275.00 to include all his testing, the amputation, his neuter and his boarding. If we are able to raise more than this there will be a free adoption fee to a wonderful approved family that wants to adopt Marty.
