This is a story true and funny story of my grandmother Myrtle Brown. Hope you enjoy these memories of Grandma Myrtle and aunt Pauline. This Bob a Brown telling the story. Some of you know that I had not been apart of the Brown family until I was about 20 years old or so. I soon learned how much grandma loved her beer. One summer day she road a bus from Corpus Christi and asked me to pick her up at the station at the station so I gladly went to get her and bring her to my house. She asked me if I would stop and buy her a 6 pack of beer, no problem grandma I can do that. I stopped and got her a six pack we got to my house and I put the beer in the refrigerator and she said oh Bob bring that over her. So I took it over to the couch where she was sitting. I gave her a beer and she took it and put the six pack on the floor next to her feet. After a few minutes I thought well I have a beer with her. I walked over took one from her six pack opened it and walked over to sit in my chair and she sternly said, “what are you doing” I said “I am going to have a beer with you” she got pretty excited and said “if you wanted a beer you should have bought you some for yourself”. I was dumbfounded and then she said “please put it back and I will drink it next”. She was such fun to be around, I could sit and talk to her for hours. Another time my aunt Pauline decided to take grandma to bingo for her birthday. She was so excited. I told her that if I get a bingo I would be to embarrassed to yell bingo. She said hell I holler it out for ya. So the night went on and myself and Pauline were talking and grandma kept telling us to shut up because we were giving her bad luck. Then right at that very time she got a bingo. But between yelling at Pauline and I and having a big dip of snuff in her mouth she almost chocked getting the word bingo out. She coughed tried to speak but get not get the words out she softly said bingo as she was chocking and finally she spit her snuff in a cup and said. And I Quote “Bingo” and yelled loudly “?#ddamn it I got a bingo” then without taking a breath she began yelling at Pauline and I. We could not help ourselves from laughing hysterically. Those memories to me are priceless.
