This is a terrible idea ... every time you spend money ... the purchase is tagged to your bio-metrics!!! ... WHEN this ID system is hacked and people learn how to track every little thing you spend money on ... the money trail will constitute a major violation of privacy rights ... the downside of this thing far outweighs any gain achieved ... Just about EVERYTHING you do and everywhere you go involves you spending money for some aspect of it ... and it will ALL be totally traceable ... Big data analyses ... could be used to track just about everyone you are in close proximity to as well ... IMAGINE the potential for abuse that EXTREME loss of privacy can result in ... ► This is just as serious ... as how every smart phone is now so easily being turned into a spy device allowing people to know everywhere you are every minute of the day and the content of all your communications - texting, emails, phone conversations you make ... There can be a transcript generated for it all ... As your competitor I could know all your contacts ... As a political party black ops intelligence gathering person I could find out all sorts of personal things to use against all the politicians ... As a police department I could know you were part of an anti government protest just by setting up a hotdog stand and selling everyone refreshments for 10 cents each ... then pass that on to the government so they can arrange to keep focus on you ... and start making trouble for you in everything you do - make sure your loans are turned down, make sure your applications for university are rejected, make sure your bill payments dont get recorded properly so your credit rating and peoples willingness to sell you things is reduced ... Criminal punishment could be tied to an extra tax on your bio-metric ID number until you have paid your debt to society ... As a tyrant I could know everyone to round up and kill as well as you if you oppose me ... Allowing this is such a stupidly bad idea for so many reasons ... Just hearing about this makes me want to start using only cash for every transaction I make whenever possible ... and finding ways to ... as the say go dark and become as untraceable in as many ways as I can ... merely out of principal !!! ... Dont look at the convenience of this ... think of someone wanting to target you and turn you into a victim ... for their gain ... ► As with the NSA tracking capabilities ... its not when the good guys are in power ... using it for the things WE SAY they can use it for ... thats worrisome ... its when the bad guys take control of it all and start using it to vito democracy and victimize opponents with ... and take control and start doing their damage to the entire country and anyone they dont like for any reason at all ... and this helps to make them unstoppable ... ► If you cant think of possible HIGHLY LIKELY abuses for these types of capabilities then you should not be allowed in the decision making process required to scrap this dumb-ass abusive idea ... A cashless society ... is easy to achieve ... using debit cards DONE ... We have the capability ... Run with it ... Its already implemented ... WITHOUT any bio-metrics involved at all ... Keep it that way !!! ... Next fascist governments will want to start DNA banks so its easier to frame anyone just by spreading their DNA around a crime scene ... Sprinkle the DNA of UN peacekeepers all around those mass killing sites ... and blame them for the genocide ...
