This is a tongue in cheek story about the local racetrack/County fair where I grew up. When I was a kid, the fairs all had vendors that sold things like Chinese stars, nunchucks and little mirrors with your favorite bands logo on them. After spending the day at the midway (throwing my arm out at the damn speed pitch game) wed make our way to the race to watch the chaos that ensued. Later on in life, it became sort of a sense of pride to go out to the races and watch a good friend race like a bat out of hell along with all the other drivers. So the phrase White Trash Weekend is an endearing term to all those who have ventured out to the Kankakee County Speedway. Its another Friday night. Good luck to all the racers.
