This is a track that I found truly inspiring. I originally came to play percussion from a dance music DJ background. In the 90s I stumbled across New York DJ-producers Masters at Work who in 96 produced an amazing album Nuyorican Soul, which payed homage to , funk, soul, disco, salsa, hiphop and other dance oriented styles which had inspired their musical journey. This album blew my mind, consequently I would snap up any 12 vinyl with a MAW or NUyorican soul remix on it. This Roni Size Breakbeat classic gets a full on Nuyorican Soul Treatment, full on Latin at 6.40min, so stick with it, its a slow burner initially. louisto Quintero doing a phenomenal job on Timbales.
