This is a unique Engineering - Design / Sales / Purchasing / Management position for a local Machine Building facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan Position relates to Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Working w/ vendors and customers, answers directly to the General Manager. Main functions of the position are Design / Sales and Purchasing. Design responsibilities are as follows: * Design new equipment and update existing equipment * Prepares print packages as required for customer orders * Review of existing equipment for cost saving, improvement of processes * Has knowledge of operation and capabilities of machine tools * Research and Development - May create mock ups, models, assist in the assembly thereof Product Improvement/ Cost Savings / Update OSHA req / Update for FDA, etc.. * Creation and maintenance of drawings in AutoCAD mechanical and AutoCAD Inventor * Creation and maintenance of product illustration books and product sales * Tooling - prepares instructions and pictures of machine set-ups * Creation and maintenance of Engineering Change Orders / Bill of Materials * Supervise, train, orient assisting personnel Sales responsibilities are as follows: * May prepare and / or assist in the creation of quotes * Prepare initial drawing of equipment for customer review * Take parts orders on phone, fax or email, assist in identifying what parts the customer needs, writ up sales orders * May visit customers as required * Creates and maintains relating to customer orders * May issue shop order numbers * May issue returned goods authorization (RGA) Purchasing responsibilities are as follows: * May procure quotations from vendors * May order supplies for departments * May order materials, tooling and vendor out parts, procures best price for materials ordered * Checks on lead time * Issues purchase orders, follows up on delivery * Works with vendors to resolve any issues If you are interested in this very diverse position please submit a resume or application immediately to laura.yax@expresspros
