This is a very cool Chanukah video. It occurred to me that some of my non-Jewish friends may not understand the true Chanukah holiday. So, here goes in short. Ancient Israel was invaded by the Syrians (big surprise) and there was a revolution (after three years) led by a family called the Maccabees. When they freed the holy temple, there was only enough oil to keep the eternal light lit one night. It took 8 days to make new oil. The Neis (Miracle) of Chanukah is that the oil they found lasted the 8 days until the supply could be replenished. Thats it. We learn (1) the Arabs liked to invade Israel; (2) the Israelis were freedom riders back then and (3) when you need a miracle, it shows.
