This is a very long rant. I AM posting my personal opinion. A. Watch the video with discretion. You might just lose complete faith in law enforcement because what happened in New York was highly fked up. B. I dont think its so much about militarization of the police. It only takes a handgun. Its a racism problem that did NOT get that much better as you would think from 70 years ago. Go talk to your friends. Go talk to people before you come and judge me for saying this as someone whos only lived here for two years. C. No. Who the kid was or what he had done before the incident has absolutely nothing to do with what happened to him. Id rather believe what the eye-witnesses say because its hard to lie about details. D. Show the autopsy report to the public, if its still valid after the body was exposed in the sun for too long. Just the fact that there are pictures of the scene is very disturbing to me. E. I do not care that Ferguson is the sixth most segregated city in America or the 110th most segregated city in America. It could happen in the least segregated city here. We all know that. F. I cant do daily news because I sat in the newsroom all day today and all I heard was Market Basket and Robin Williams (with all due respect. Rest in peace, Mr. Keating.) Only one of the fellow interns had a conversation with me about this topic. This was why I was very frustrated while digging in the Demoulas family dirt. I do have a preference. I do get subjective. Maybe Im not meant to be. Whatever. G. All incidents during the past two years have deeply saddened me to see how good you are doesnt necessarily do you any good and your fate cam be simply decided by your color. And when that happens, there are people trying to justify it. H. Forgive me for ranting and making statement that has been made a million times. RACISM IS SOMETHING I DIDNT HAVE TO WITNESS OR DEAL WITH BEFORE COMING TO THE STATES. How am I supposed to celebrate my accomplishment while Mike Brown is dead, knowing that my little sister and brother are going to grow up and go through the same thing? That makes me sad and speechless.
