This is a very poor quality little videoette, shot by Fabrice, bless him, while he was singing, I just asked him to hold it for me so I could show you the very beginning of the next coloured pencil drawing. The reference is by Sandra Weiner. there is quite a lot of background noise, which is normal in this house, but hopefully you get some idea of how the line drawing arrives on the paper. I know many of my colour pencil using friends use a coloured pencil for the line drawing, I worry about mistakes, amd coloured pencil can be that bit more difficult to remove, whereas a very light application of graphite is easy to get rid of with a bit of blutack as I begin to add the colour. For a complex composition, I usually sketch and sketch again til Im happy, then trace my. est sketch and transfer to the paper, so there are no rubbings out at all. For a simple composition I straight onto the chosen surface. Believe it or not, from the noise here you would t think so, but Didier is now as.eep, Fabrice is drawing beside me, so I can add a bit of the under painting in between washing loads and the school run. phew
