This is a very urgent prayer request. Cliff Powell, a very dear friend of YourChaplain is back in ICU. This past week his doctors discovered a large tumor in his brain. He underwent surgery, but due to the depth of the tumor, it could not all be removed. He had another CT scan today. There is more swelling around the surgical cavity. This evening the doctors told his wife Kari that if the swelling in the brain doesnt go down, Cliff may have to have surgery again. They have installed another central line and are giving him saline and mannitol through it. Mannitol is used clinically to reduce acutely raised intracranial pressure until more definitive treatment can be applied, e.g., after head trauma. It is administered intravenously. Mannitol can also be used as a facilitating agent for the transportation of pharmaceuticals directly into the brain. Cliff needs our intense and continuous prayer. I am asking that we establish a 24-hour prayer chain for him, starting at 9pm this evening. Volunteers should sign up for one hour of prayer each.
