This is a video of some of my first steps (with the help of a walker). Up until this point, I had only been able to stand for short amounts of time. I had to constantly build my endurance to reach this milestone, but it was a moment I will never forget. It gave me so much hope. Hope that I could one day reach the finish line and be able to walk without any help. On October 18th, I plan on to cross another finish line by running the Baltimore 5K (as part of the Baltimore Running Festival). I will be running in honor of all of those fighting Transverse Myelitis, and to prove that the human spirit can overcome anything, even this vicious disease. I am asking my friends to help me raise $5K to donate to the Transverse Myelitis Association on my behalf.
