This is about as punk as the BBC ever got. Straight after the intro guitarist Omar smacks his guitar and breaks the tuner head off.. What ya gonna do in the throes of an energetic live performance on national TV being the new darlings of Beastie Boys Dominos Records? Go utterly apeshit thats what! My dad and I watched this bemused and in a state of awe! Made me ring my mates Rik and Simon & arrange a noisy ass pedal jam as soon as possible! Completely changed the way I looked at music in one fell swoop. AT The Drive-In opened up new doors to experimentation and new ideas of tonal possibilities. ATDI and NOFX introduced me to pollychords and expressive clattery bashing of the guitar! The following week Rik and I got a copy of Relationship Of Command! Still pisses over nu mental from upon high even this many years later when the residual feedback is still echoing via tinnitus in Jools ears.. And look at the dumbfounded face of Robin Williams.. EL Paso punk at its finest. Happy Sunday yall!!
