This is about my son Nick and my family. This happened today. Guys, be SUPER CAREFUL about scams. This felt very very real to his grandparents and they could have fallen for it. Story from Millos sister: When I arrived at my parents’ place today for an afternoon visit, I walked in to find them on the phone, clearly distressed. My 14-year old nephew, Nick, had just called them from the police station where he lives in California. Mother was talking to the officer. Nick, was OK, but had been in an accident in a car driven by a felon with cocaine and a weapon, but he didn’t want his parents to know about it, so he had called her. The officer needed $3,000 and had instructed my parents on how to get the money to him. I too was freaked out, but after taking the phone from my mother and questioning the ”officer” he hung up on me. We immediately called my brother, who had Nick right by his side. None of the story was true. My mother had been absolutely convince Nick had called her, thus making the bizarre story believable. What horrible people to use the young to prey on the elderly. Shame, shame, shame.
