This is absolutely critical to eradication of global hunger and even poverty. Reduction of wastage would drive down demand relieving pressure on the globally tight SNDs for most commodities. This would lead to cooling of prices, lower inflation, more availability for the 1 billion bottom of pyramid folks across the world. The middle and upper classes would be responsible for most of this wastage though there are no statistics for that.
