This is all well and good (and awful and tragic of course for the people at the centre of this) but where is the collective resistance , the direct action, the solidarity needed to enable someone to refuse to move? I know it’s going on in Liverpool but that’s because I read infantile Disorder’s blog and Combat the Bedroom Tax website, but all the resistance that’s mentioned here is some symbolic sleep out! Compare with Balcombe. Here green and environmental protesters (including ’liberal’ organisations such as Friends of the Earth and the Green Party ) are willing to put themselves on the line, to blockade and risk arrest. They get results too, they stopped the drilling for a short time. Somehow I can’t imagine Unite leader Len Macluskie being dragged away by the cops while hundreds of people blockade the streets to stop the bailiffs entering a council estate. Let’s face the brutal facts-today’s left and the labour movement are pitiful! They have never been weaker or more out of touch with ordinary working people, either hoping against hope the Labour Party will miraculously become more socialist or party building and empty posturing in the comfort zones of left-wing or union meetings. scriptonitedaily.wordpress/2013/08/22/severely-disabled-mum-of-two-first-to-be-evicted-for-bedroom-tax-arrears/comment-page-1/#comment-8033
