This is always a complicated conversation, even one that im not always so sure how to answer. Its easy to assert that im cuban and afrocuban, especially to people who dont know what either of those things are, but i dont ever tell anyone that im Black. My mom makes jokes about me being so pale, and i look at pictures of her and my grandparents, and if they werent related to me, i wouldnt think twice about their blackness. So its something that im just never sure how i feel, and what i should say. Latino or hispanic seems to cover it, but also, seems to miss some things. I write a lot about racism, because as a kid i could never reconcile why my father was racist against african americans, but wasnt racist against african cubans. rosaclemente.net/who-is-black/
