This is an email I received from a competitor (from CF 858) from yesterdays Rumble in Paradise competition- I’m emailing you because I let something happen during my WOD 3 that I shouldn’t have. I noticed halfway during the WOD my judge was part-way helping with putting the weights on the barbell. If I had true competitive integrity, I would have told him to stop but I didn’t. I wasn’t ever in the top ten so it may be a moot point or too late but I feel I should let you know and maybe give the people the points they deserve by disqualifying my WOD 3 score. I could come up with several excuses but I realized ultimately it was up to me that the score was accurate and not the judge’s responsibility. I want to represent myself and my box (Crossfit 858) with integrity at all times. This was a good learning experience will not let it happen again I have elected to leave the scores alone, as whats done is done and the overall impact was likely minimal. Im sharing this with you all, because I think this person is a huge example of what is GOOD in our CrossFit community. What courage it takes to admit weve made a mistake, and the desire to try and rectify it is palpable. This is exactly what I think is so amazing about our community. This email made my whole day. L
