This is an example of how I make the activities appropriate for each age. there are several things going on here. For each child, squeezing glue, picking up the colored noodles and placing them on the glue is excersizing the small muscles in there hands and fingers(this is important for writing and cutting). The 4 year old is practicing her counting and the concept of quantity. There are 10 lily pads on top each with a number from 1-10. She counts a places the correct number of noodles onto the corresponding number. The 2 year old is practicing matching and color names. She places a colored noodle into the corresponding colored circle. The 1 year old is practicing coloring, glueing and fine motor skills. The kids were really into it and did a great job!
