This is an exciting role within a high-profile, national organisation, ideal for an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of generating significant income. The successful candidate will ideally be based in Edinburgh, but Glasgow is also an option. With responsibility for all major fundraising activity in Scotland and for ensuring that revenue generation targets are met, this is a key role within the organisation. Your remit will be to develop and maintain a solid donor base and to build long-lasting relationships with both existing and potential donors. Your significant experience and industry expertise will also be called upon to help drive forward the organisation’s national fundraising strategy. The majority of your time will probably be spent developing successful relationships with corporate clients in order to both maximise contributions from existing donors and also forge new relationships. However, you will also be given the opportunity to network with high-net worth individuals and we are therefore looking for candidates with the gravitas to operate at a senior level. It is highly likely that the successful candidate for this role will possess a strong Corporate Fundraising background, but experience of Individual Giving would also be beneficial. A large part of the role will involve organising and attending fundraising events and event management experience is therefore essential. Volunteers are seen as a very valuable resource within the organisation and previous volunteer management experience would be helpful. This is an exciting role, which will appeal to confident individuals who possess a proven track record in fundraising, professional oral and written communication skills and the flexibility to liaise effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels. We are looking for creative thinkers, with the experience and initiative to develop and implement new fundraising initiatives. An interest in or knowledge of Scotland’s political scene would also be highly beneficial.
