Below are the presentations and discussions by our Rice representatives: Rice Chemist James Tour Tuesday, July 29, 2014 • Room 2322, Rayburn House Office Building 10:15 a.m EDT Tour, who is nationally renowned for his expertise on nanotechnology-based methods and materials, will testify before the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade regarding the potential for nanotechnology to drive manufacturing and job creation. Rice Tax Policy Expert John Diamond Wednesday, July 30, 2014 • Room 1100, Longworth House Office Building 10 a.m EDT Diamond will make a statement on and field questions about the Tax Reform Act of 2014 from the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures of the Committee on Ways and Means. Diamond, the Edward A. and Hermena Hancock Kelly Fellow in Public Finance at Rice Universitys Baker Institute for Public Policy and an adjunct professor of economics, has provided tax policy consultation to government agencies on a variety of issues. Rice Energy and Environmental Initiative Executive Director Chuck McConnell Wednesday, July 30, 2014 • Room 2318, Rayburn House Office Building 10 a.m EDT | 12:30 p.m. EDT • 1100 New York Ave., NW 7th Floor, West Tower McConnell and other panelists will discuss regulatory policies and associated technologies that can be practically applied to power plants and the impact on electric energy reliability and affordability in the USA. Later in the day, McConnell will speak at an American Security Project conference exploring how the United States can enhance European energy security.
