This is an interesting article giving definitions to some words used on labels. It always fascinates me how effective those words are. I had a client that came in this week who used to buy Healthy Choice soups thinking he was doing a good thing until he read the ingredients. Labeling is an art form. People go to school to learn how to create effective labeling. This is a big deal!!! Great labels sell product. You are trying to get healthy. These two goals are not the same!!! Manufacturers do not have your wellness in mind, but rather are trying to increase sales. G-d bless them! That is fine, but you dont have to believe all you read. Do yourself the huge favor of bypassing all the pretty words and going straight to the ingredient list. Do you understand them? Are there 5 ingredients or less? Would you feed these to a one year old? Thinking before acting is the mark of a healthy human being. Before you buy a product, educate yourself. If you are out of the produce section of your market, make sure you have good reason.
