This is an interesting development: One of you posted this a few days ago, in response to our Urban Hope alert: Isnt Assemblyman Garcia [who represents Hoboken in the NJ Assembly] conflicted out of voting [on the Urban Hope expansion]?? Barbara Marinez is the Chief External Officer for Uncommon schools. She is also the Board President of Hola Charter School in Hoboken. Assemblyman Garcias child attends Hola Charter School and his wife is employed by Hola, effectively making Barbara Martinez of Uncommon schools Assemblyman Garcias wifes boss!! I hear CONFLICT!!! Today, Assemblyman Garcia voted YES on the Urban Hope legislation that benefits his wifes boss at HOLA Charter school. Hmmm. What do you think? Is that a conflict of interest?
