This is an interesting idea. Dont know if I can make it though. Sometimes ideas sound better than their execution, but THIS seems well spoken of. Re overdoing the cleverness:Seeing short videos of that puppet drama, Disfarmer, I was surprised to find the critics were largely right to call it cloying and over-the-top full of itself. Though I found it noteworthy, having never seen or read ANY adaption of Anna Karenina, I DID find Joe Wrights movie treatment distractingly clever. Given the POV of not actually knowing the story, I found it somewhat difficult to follow. Luckily I was watching it on the DVR and could treat it like a study...moving back and forth et al... There WERE some striking images and staging effects...but it SEEMED to be largely for people who were familiar with the story. Sorta like watching the umpteenth Dracula retelling...
