This is an interesting issue. On one hand I can see the desire for some variety in the student body; that was positive experience for me in college. However it can create problems for qualified minorities because the assumption is they only got in because of reverse discrimination. I have a bright black student who got into Harvard on merit, but then found that most of her peers assumed she got in because of race preference. She was frustrated having to prove herself over and over. Shes is remarkable competent and a natural leader so I think she eventually succeeded in showing how gifted she is. Quite a dilemma though. youtu.be/sKzSYdNwc6Q
