This is an interview on PBS with Principal Chief Wilma Mankiller, jigesv. I have watched it before, but tonight I heard something I had not heard before. In speaking of the poverty she experienced in San Francisco, as compared to Her Cherokee community of Rocky Mountain in Adair County, Chief Mankiller makes a profound observation that is an important point for outlander Cherokees joining satellite communities need to hear and understand. I hear at large Cherokees compare their so called communities to the traditional Cherokee communities in the Nation. Nothing could be further from the truth and her contrast in poverty is also a lesson in contrast of what it means to be a part of a real community versus what is nothing more than a club. videos.oeta.tv/video/2365176354/
