This is an old story in its premise. Always disheartening to hear and read private sector calling for smaller government and privatization of services, when it is the public (meaning shared responsibility) delivery of those services like roads and power and more which makes possible the opportunity to even do business. So, not surprising you dont pay your share of taxes enough (think of the trillions in off-shore accounts by Canadian business), you dont clean up the mess you leave behind enough (think of any abandoned mine), you walk away from contracts because you failed to turn a enough profit (Hopewell Rocks) and just keep going ... at some point it comes full circle and you (private sector values) have eroded the very infrastructure enough to make it impossible to make your profit. Just last week Nova Scotia said they had some 500 bridges in need of serious repair, yet the provincial election demonstrated business continued cry for lower taxes and more privatization. Silly, just silly ... and yet people like Charles Cirtwell (of AIMS) and Kevin Lacey of the Taxpayers Federation continue their values, and they still dont see it is to their own (and our) detriment. We need to start taking care of each other , instead of exploiting each other. Thanks for posting Hassan Arif. If people want, I suggest trying to do research on Atlantic Institute for Market Studies and Cirtwell, or Lacey and Taxpayers Federation ... it may surprise you the vested interest and roots these two organizations have.
