This is an update on my mother. According to the doctors, she will not get much better, if any. Her heart attack was considered moderate. Her dementia is in full swing. Brian and I have been here since noon and she has not one sentence that is normal. I go along with the subjects as they jump around a lot. She is still being very kind to the staff here and always thanks them for taking care of her. Her eyes stare into to distance and it looks as though shes not at home. Its so sad. She makes biscuits and cornbread and does laundry. My mother has always been a hard worker and even now shes looking for ways to stay busy. Mother has had so many health issues in the past from heart attacks, open heart surgery, bad diabetes, breast cancer, shes fallen over 200 times in the past two years and with that came broken ribs, broken nose, bruises from head to toe, shes been beaten by a resident in a nursing home, and shes always fought her way back. This time, shes tired and it may take more strength than she can find to recover. We will leave here and going to a nursing home. She does not know that. Its in her best interest for the dementia to become her friend. She would have never wanted to be this way and its breaking my heart to see her. Praise The Lord she is in no pain. God knows what is best and I trust Him. I ask you to pray for her and for strength for my sister and me.
