This is another technique I use to warm up. Its rolling on a medicine ball. Many of you have heard about the foam roller well you can almost roll on anything even a tennis ball to untie those knots in your body. The theory behind this from what I have read is its a self-myofascial release. What myofascial release is its a hands on technique to release pressure on the connective tissues to help relieve pain and tension. Think of the skin. The skin is tight not only the joints. You have to think beyond just stretching. Ask yourself why are you stretching? Is it because you feel knots? Is it to be more flexible when you do this or that. These questions are very important. I have not yet seen all studies out there but I have been looking more into these kind of self therapy to help improve and avoid injuries.
