This is appalling! If the guy recording would have been exercising his 2nd amendment rights and carrying a gun (assuming hes not a felon) for self defense, he could have invoked deadly force on the behalf of the victim here. I dont know the whole story here, but he was probably too scared to intervene because he had no weapon and the attacker has a knife. If I see something like this, I am going to draw my weapon and put a stop to it with or without a warning depending on how clear it is who the agressor is. This guy has a knife, but even if I see anyone on top of someone, full mount, using downward blows, I am going to put a stop to it, hopefully without ever having to use my gun. People! Buy a gun! Learn when you are legally justified to invoke deadly force for self defense. Learn how to use your gun and practice with it. It may not be your own life that you have to save one day. It could be a loved one or a stranger. Please take responsibility for your own safety and stop living in fear.
