This is awesome. Preserving Constitutional rights and authority is an important goal of law enforcement. Just like the powers granted to States by the Constitution to self-govern, hence why State legislation is so pivotal for States and their operation. In only few instances (i.e. Laws that oppose the Constitution) does the Supreme Court step in and overturn State legislations. But what this Sheriff has done is pretty amazing, and a powerful reminder for all levels of law enforcement to understand their jurisdiction and the source of authority granted to them.
