This is awful news, please object Time is running out to take part in the consultation on West Berkshire Council’s Development Plan (DPD) As you may already know, a consultation is currently underway to help determine possible sites for future housing development across West Berkshire. Some of the proposed sites for development are in your area so I would encourage you to send in your comments to the Council. This consultation closes on Friday 12th September at 2359 hours! Writing or emailing the Council is the only way of formally registering your views on the draft DPD’s preferred sites. You can email the Council via [email protected] or post your comments to: Planning Policy, Planning and Countryside, West Berkshire Council, Market Street, Newbury, RG14 5LD. You can view the full list of proposed sites on West Berkshire Council’s website by clicking here. But the sites most relevant to your local ward area include: • Pincents Hill (site reference EUA007) • Land adjacent to Junction 12 of M4, Calcot (EUA025) • Land adjacent to Bath Road and Dorking Way (EUA026) I have been working closely with and meeting local residents and campaign groups across my constituency who have concerns about individual sites and this is an on-going dialogue. In your area the ‘Save Pincents Hill’ campaign has set up a website, to raise awareness of this consultation. Please visit their website, savepincentshill.co.uk which set out local concerns about the suitability of Pincents Hill and which you may wish to include in your own submission to the Council. In your email or letter to West Berkshire Council please make clear which site you are referring to. Every individual in your household can send their own objection email or letter, which will clearly increase the number of responses the Council receives.
