This is basically an interview of Ralph Moss who was the science - TopicsExpress

This is basically an interview of Ralph Moss who was the science write at Sloan Kettering when they concluded that laetrile doesnt work. There was a researcher, Dr, Kanematsu Suguira at SK who had 4 years of positive experiments with laetrile. Moss seems quite honest and indeed he was invited back to SK about 20 years later for a talk which is some sort of act of atonement. Laetrile did an effective job at preventing the spread of lung cancer in mice which were genetically selected to have a particularly bad disease that no drug could cure and laetrile didnt cure it either. The decision to not pursue more studies and to lobby Congress to ban laetrile seems to me to be based more on money than science. Perhaps further study would have resulted in a better treatment. My opinion on cancer is that there will be many cancers which will never have an effective cure. It seems that we all have to die and the human body will not last forever. I do expect that our medical researchers will develop some better treatments and will give more years of productive life to many people. I hope that soon we will find some treatments which do not make people sicker trying to kill more cancerous cells than non-cancerous. There must be some better ideas. Laetrile may be one and it has been banned.
