This is citizen engagement: You may have heard recently that the Boyle Activity Council received a very healthy sized grant for the Tae Kwon Do program - heres a shot of the work in progress. These kids had meetings to plan the presentation, practised on weekends, and then marched proudly into that boardroom with their Master (Erin) in the lead, and knocked their socks off. Much respect for Jason Ahrens and Erin Schned for what they do over there at Boyle Community Centre. So proud to live in a community where if you dream it it can come true. So proud to live in a community where even the kids have meetings around someones dinning room table; to do the heavy lifting and to get things done. I think they are a good example of walking the walk, citizen engagement starts early in OEV - making a difference is something everyone contributes to!
