This is copied from Rabbi David Schwartz: >We’d like to share some of our good fortune with you. As the winner of a national Reform Jewish Movement social justice contest, we are the recipients of a completely free concert by one of the leading Jewish and social justice musicians of our age, Dan Nichols. Dan will be performing at Temple Hesed on Sunday, December 8th, from 4pm to 5:15pm. The concert will be free and open to all. > >Recently profiled in Time Magazine, Dan has performed his music at venues ranging from Masada to Limmud, Bnai Brith Youth, and Union for Reform Judaism national and international conventions. If you’re not familiar with his lively yet thoughtful music, you can listen to it at jewishrock, and all of his music is also available on iTunes. He’ll be singing many of his best-known songs, including: Ltakein, Btzelem Elohim, Kehillah Kedoshah, Sweet As Honey, and Chazak. > >While there is no charge, we will be collecting toiletries (e.g. shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and liquid soap) that the Community Intervention Center will provide to homeless families in our area. We also want to highlight the great work done by many organizations in our area. At the informal reception following the concert, we encourage your organization and any others that so wish to pass out information. All we ask is that you help us spread the word about the concert, and that you let us so we can have a table set up for you. > >We hope you will send word of this exciting opportunity to your congregation/organization and any networks you think are appropriate. Please mention it on Facebook, in emails you send out and your December newsletters. We’ve attached two email flyers you can send out, and we’ll send along printed flyers soon. Please let us know if you need any further information. We look forward to seeing you soon. > >In Hesed (Loving-Kindness) >
