This is disgusting. If these allegations against LePage pan out, and he did in fact discuss killing members of Maines State House and State Senate (including my Democratic Party opponent), it seems clear to me that he engaged in conspiracy to commit murder. That would be exactly the sort of stupid criminal act that would provide grounds to move forwards on impeachment. My opponent and I have our differences of opinion when it comes to policy, but I do not hesitate for a second to set them aside to denounce this disgusting, violent, extremist behavior. Nobody should be subject to threats against their life for holding a political viewpoint-- not in a civilized society.
