This is easily the coolest thing thats happened for my familys business, Dehen 1920, in a long, long time: an apparel collaboration with J.Crew, currently live on their website. So proud of everyone there, from knitters to cutters to sales and marketing--but especially my dad, Jim Artaiz--for getting through the thin years (er, decades) to come out on the other side as a company thats still dedicated to the quality and craftsmanship present when my great-grandfather founded the company in Portland, Oregon nearly 100 years ago. Dehen doesnt have a permanent (permanent) retail space, but on October 18 & 19, Dehen will be featured in a pop-shop trade show in Chicago. Though the collaborative garments are only available on J.Crews retail space, Dehen sells directly through their own website at Dehen1920. The fall line will be rolling out over the next two weeks. However, the quality and character of the products just cant come through a computer screen; it really must be seen (and felt) to be believed. If you are interested and have the time, please ask about stopping by in mid-October. Northwestern University and The University of Chicago Law School students and alums will be eligible for a discount. Hows that for playing favorites?
