This is freedom of association. Freedom is nothing but a word, unless you have the ability to secede from something that you dont want to do. The reason doesnt matter, not in any way whatsoever. As long as nobody is initiating force on anyone else, everything remains peaceful and voluntary. What I dont understand about this case is this: If the decision went the other way, how does the state enforce it? They have a cop stakeout his cake shop and force him to bake a cake at gunpoint? Or did the offended emotional hypochondriac plaintiff just want a fat payday? People need to get over their perpetual offenses grow up, and TOLERATE the fact that not everyone is going to agree everyone else about everything- and stop calling some lowlife lawyer every time some little problem occurs.
