As you know, I am attending Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana in order to complete a Master of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Studies. I have almost finished one year of study here at the seminary and it is going very well. God is teaching me a lot about His Word, His Church, and His People. But God is also growing me in His love and understanding. The more I study and the more I learn about myself, the more I understand how important the Lord is in my life and how much more I need Him. One of the requirements for my studies is that I take up a variety of credits in an apprentice role with my local church. While my family and I are here, we have been attending Grace Community Church in Goshen, Indiana, where we have been blessed to grow in Christ under the pastoral leadership of my uncle, Pastor Jim Brown. After presenting the apprenticeship packet to him, he was excited to offer a wonderful opportunity for me to learn and grow more as both a Christ-follower, but also a leader and future pastor. Through this church, God has opened the door for me to be part of a short-term mission team in both Cambodia and Thailand from May 21 to May 31, 2014. Along with Uncle Jim, six others and I will be traveling to Asia in alliance with Asia’s Hope to meet up with and support the various orphanages and minister to the orphans who are there. After much discussion and prayer, Katty and I believe that this is an exciting opportunity for the Lord to train me and grow me in His love. Your help is needed!
