This is from Moonraker - the venice speed boat chase. I think this proves a point. First of all, why is Bond suddenly taking a tour of Venice? Alone, and not with a beautiful woman? Who knows. The bad guys apparently does, because not only are they waiting for him, they also staged a complicated assassination attempt involving a casket on a boat and a knife thrower. Not considering that there are lots of houses and bridges, and James Bond 007 moves really slow in that boat. Any sniper could have taken him out. Bond escapes naturally, and suddenly, we learn that the boat is one of Qs gadgets. It can be turned into a motorboat. Why? Is this some important mission, to take a leisure tour of Venice, with someone so inexperienced that he tips his hat to the knife thrower just before he gets killed by him? We never learn. Its still a mystery. Anyway, now another motorboat appears with bad guys. Not sure from where or why, but here we go - the chase is on. But that ends the moment Bonds motorboat (sort of) suddenly turns into a hover craft (!), and leaves the canal, causing all kinds of calamity and hilarity. This is still my all time favorite Bond scene, it cracks me up every time, but it makes no sense whatsoever. Its like its written by Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear. After a few pints..
