This is from My tour manager Don Byzynski Being Nonpoints Tour - TopicsExpress

This is from My tour manager Don Byzynski Being Nonpoints Tour Manager I wanted to explain and shed some light on what led Nonpoint to cancel the show in Mishawaka IN. As a professional touring band if being Nonpoint or any other national touring band the clubs are expected to handle certain specifications being: Sturdy and stable stage to be able to support the weight of 5 people, steel drum riser, guitar cabs, bass cabs, guitar tech work station. Also the stage needs to have ample space to bring in production (lights, truss, etc) Sound system to meet artist specifications. This mean the house PA system needs certain amount of power and amount of system to handle a national touring acts. Once any tour manager advances a show the club is notified load in times. At that time the club needs to have on their end: loaders, sound system up and running, stage clean and ready for load in, dressing rooms clean and set up for band to get away from a bus/bandwagon or van, and general readiness for the bands crew to do their job in a timely manor. As a Tour Manager its my job of making sure Nonpoint and crew is safe by ensuring the clubs have provided all necessary resources to do a successful show. With yesterdays events that led to MY call to cancel the show and not the bands it was due to lack of any of the above request. I walked into the club at 10:30am to find a stage 7ft x 12ft, a sound system the size of small dance club would have, load in up 2 flights of stairs, loaders not showing up until 2 hours AFTER my advanced timeline of 1 pm, a rope barricade, not any type of lighting system. When speaking to the club owner I asked if this was the full stage? his reply was no we have wings to extend the stage this was a folding table type stage that was very unsturdy and on a uneven floor. I can not have my guys play on a unsafe stage period. Going back and forth for a few hours about all the issues we did decide to play the show IF the sound system was up to our standard. The crew and club provided hands started to bring gear up stairs at around 3:30 pm to then find some of the clubs sound guys they had no idea how to hook up the system and the main house sound engineer will not be in until after 5 pm and I also discovered the village has a noise ordanece until 5 pm which I was never informed. Nonpoint and myself want to give the fans a performance they will never forget and with all the issues we ran into yesterday that could not happen. So again we are all truly sorry we let anyone down but we promise we will return then give you that performance you deserve in a proper venue. Thank you to all that support Nonpoint!
