This is from a NY paper: Some teachers in XXXXX cant understand why first-graders are being required to learn about locations in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq and Kuwait), when most 7-year-olds cant find their way through their own neighborhoods. I dont get that logic. Because 7yr olds cant find their way around their own neighborhoods, they shouldnt learn about Mesopotamia? My 7yr olds favorite subject is history. She loves reading about Mesopotamia.
