This is going to upset a lot of trainers out there , but I dont - TopicsExpress

This is going to upset a lot of trainers out there , but I dont care about them, I care about you guys reading this post. Its that time of the year when you get bombarded with health & fitness , this is usually a 2 pronged attack. Firstly, dont wait until new year , START NOW - you must have seen some of these already. Now, I am a big believer in not waiting until New year , or waiting for a Monday to start your fitness journey - however, this statement usually encompasses a money saving deal - thats because this time of the year gyms in general are quiet and so are the trainers, as most people choose to spend their hard earned money on gifts for family & friends and socialising at this festive time of the year - and why not, life is for living! Then comes the big one NEW YEAR ,NEW YOU!”. I genuinely believe that this is what people want, however, there are right ways and wrong ways of going about this. This is the part that I DO NOT LIKE. Their are certain trends within the fitness industry and a big one for 2015 is going to be your quick fix body transformations , anywhere between 21 day & 10 week transformations. Companies & trainers will advertise with some great pictures of people that have had amazing results. This is BS , you dont have to take my word for it - but before you invest your hard earned cash into an expensive trainer , then I suggest you watch a film called BIGGER , STRONGER , FASTER : youtu.be/IPnT1ZSXfaU. There are 2 parts in particular, the lead guy has a before and after photoshoot with a professional fitness photographer , with the use of angles , light , fake tan , good posture etc he looks loads better - but it is not good enough , so the photographer uses photoshop and HEY PRESTO - 10 week transformation! Secondly, it shows fitness models on a photoshoot - now, this guy is in great shape but he also admits there is no way he would look like this if he did not use steroids . So this tells you 2 things : A) Its fake or B) Its cheating & hazardous to your health. This is just covering the physical side of things - what about the psychological side? 10 week transformations are a quick fix and any good fitness professional will tell you ‘there is no quick fix’ - there is no miracle pill. If you are out of shape , overfat , eating or drinking far more than you should, then you need to address this issue first & foremost, otherwise, you are never going to change. By all means, begin your health and fitness journey ASAP - but address the psychological side at the same time. For example - Do you drink? Binge drink on weekends? A glass of wine every evening? Could you give it up immediately , could you give it up altogether? When you embark on your health and fitness journey , it should take you, with the correct training, 4-6 weeks to build a good base level of fitness - in fact, you probably wont see many physical changes until the 10 week point. Once you have successfully reached the 10 week mark, you will be feeling great and you will have the confidence to continue on your journey, chiselling away at your physique week by week until you reach your desired goal. At KAST Fitness, myself, my partner and my coaches all live and lead fit & healthy lifestyles - anyone that knows us will tell you the same. Do we drink? Occasionally, we are what you might call lightweights! Do we eat ‘bad’ things? Again, occasionally - these are treats, because for 95% of the year we are fit & healthy and this is what we try and offer YOU at KAST fitness. We are not into quick fixes, we are into long term fit and healthy lifestyles. Feel free to pop by and see us before or after xmas and be sure to check out the great classes we have on offer at kastfitness “Train Smart, Train KAST” Home kastfitness
