This is hard to watch, and sad. Obviously it IS a scary world out there, and I do believe most cops want to be good cops. The increasing militarization of law enforcement is not the answer though. We need to screen out the sociopaths, perfect training, and establish clearer policies regarding what and how to communicate and when to act. Sadly, (no matter what we do) there will always be stories like this, but when law enforcement everywhere in the U.S. can be viewed as cavaliers of justice, I believe the @#$% the police mentality will fade as more people support them.
