This is hopefully the FINAL post of this whole crazy ordeal with Jamie!! We are home and both had a nap. Hes got a pretty sore throat right now, but thats the worst of it. After speaking with Dr Lorenz, we now know that we are in the clear! What Jamie has is a malformation of his trachea. It looks like something from the outside of it is smashing it, but after looking at the CT scans from Wooster, it is clear that there is no mass or anything pressing on the airway. Its just how his trachea is (yeah, hes unique). Praising God for no masses, no tumors, no cancer, no stenosis!! What this does mean is that he could lose his airway any time he needs to be intubated. They did remove the scar tissue (what they had originally thought was a mass) with a laser today, that was a result of forcing the tube into his airway when it collapsed during the appendectomy. I saw before and after pictures, it looks like it was never there!! We are both so grateful for the medical professionals that kept him alive and walked us through all of this, the prayers, words of encouragement, and for the meals provided during round one of the hospital time!! You all mean the world to us!! Love you all!
