This is how I feel about the rural land at the periphery of Auckland. I remember when it was trees and paddocks, strawberry fields, orchards and running horses. Now its all subdivisions named Cloverfields (no fields left), Grassmere lane (no grass left), Freshfields (freshly laid concrete), Rosella Grove (no rosellas), Pinotage Place (where they took out all the grapevines).... Not so keen on preserving the rural character and economy in reality, just in name.
