This is how far its gone. This is how state violence is harming and killing black people without police even being present. I watched this and I wept, because I know the danger this represented, and because I understand both of these women and the fear and the sense of futility they both felt. We are dying. We are dying. Bullet by bullet, chokehold by chokehold, taser by taser, restraint by restraint but also by a thousand cuts, each deeper and longer than the last, each new one crossing the scars of the old, re-opening an infected wound that never healed properly to begin with. Every tear a drop of salt to splash on our abraded flesh, insult to injury, womb to tomb. Were dying before were even born. Were dying.
