This is how loud the streets of Haiti were from outside our bedroom. This would be why I slept with my headphones literally taped to my ears each night. There was not any electricity where we stayed in Haiti (I think I could name two places that I saw that had electricity in the town we were in), but thank goodness for the generator that ran 3+ hours each evening so I could charge my phone long enough to play the white noise to sleep. As you can see though, the people of Haiti live their lives mostly outside on the streets with each other and basically only utilize their houses to sleep in. It was such an amazing, beautiful county, so with that perspective... Who would really need much electricity if you werent used to it anyways and only really used your house to sleep in, right?
