This is how ridiculous the whole independence debate (on both sides) has become - to the point that even the quality press has more in common with The Onion. I thought silly season was over by now?! Seriously, I thought I could escape it all in the outback but turns out even in the back of beyond that isnt possible. I was always half-minded to spoil my voting paper, and even had I not been stuck on the other side of the planet Id be very very very tempted to abstain. Why? Because there is no more credibility. The future of a nation(s) shouldnt be a laughing matter. So Im supposed to vote No because SNPs (dont read that as Yes) proposals and policy are overly optimistic/unrealistic? Think again: Im not voting in favour of Westminister and a campaign that clearly sees spending millions of pounds of taxpayers money as a joke. The only option? Emigrate. Maybe to North Korea where the dear leader riding a unicorn to work is a matter of absolute seriousness.
