This is in memory of one of my most beloved foster dogs, Zeke. He lost his life last night after being hit by a truck along with two other of his dog brothers. Kennedy seems to be ok, the other , Toby,is seriously injured and at the vet. Sarah found Zeke, a little Maltese, on Twitter when a girl announced she had found him and was taking him to the pound. We immediately asked Cheri Fults if we could rescue this non-pom and she, of course, said yes. He was only a tiny puppy...and how we loved watching him come out of his shell and grow into the social, silly, loving dog he became. Not long ago, his adoptive Mom, Dorothy Pederson Seidler let me know he had a serious liver disease. I have never prayed so hard for a non-human in my life. Little Zeke made it through with lots of love and even more vet bills, but he lived and thrived in his wonderful home with Dorothy, Michael and his 4 other dog siblings. I always said he was a magic dog. I have only known 3 magic dogs in my life....the kind that you just love immediately, that draw you in forever making an indelible mark on your heart. Zeke was such a dog and I know his mom is heartbroken over his loss. He lived a short life, but it was a happy one thanks to Recycled Pomeranians Rescue and Dorothy. Please pray for Dorothy in her grief...and for healing for sweet Toby (Yorkiepoo) and Kennedy (pomchi). I know Zeke brought her many smiles and hours of comfort and joy.Well done, Zeke, thou good and faithful servant...well done. Rest in peace....
